1) Set your Main Calendar

Your Main Calendar is the default calendar for creating events and tasks. Tasks by default will be scheduled onto your Main Calendar.

How to change your Main Calendar:

  1. Go to settings on your computer.

  2. You'll see which calendar is marked as your Main Calendar under Accounts.

  3. Click the 3 dots beside the calendar you want to set as your Main Calendar.

  4. Mark the calendar as your Main Calendar.

2) Add your calendars to "My Calendars"

Calendars in the "My Calendars" group will be checked against for conflicts when creating tasks and using booking links.

How to add calendars to My Calendars:

On the task panel to the left of your calendar, click " + Add Account".

Click the pencil icon to add newly added accounts to "My Calendars"

3) Set your schedules

Motion uses your schedules to determine when your tasks should be scheduled during the week and what available times to show on your booking links.

Multiple schedules allow you to choose different times for tasks/booking links. For example, you may want to schedule a work task during your work hours, but a personal task at night.

Here's how to set your schedules:

  1. Go to Motion settings on your computer.

  2. Click "Schedules" on the left.

  3. Add/edit your schedules.

4) Create your first task

With Motion, tasks are automatically scheduled into your calendar before the deadline so you don't have to worry about finding the time to complete your tasks.

Use the keyboard shortcut option + space on Mac (or ctrl + space on Windows) to create your first task. Learn more about creating tasks here.

5) Create your first project

Tasks can be added to "Projects" to help further organize your (and your team's) perfect schedule.

Projects can be assigned project managers. Plus, projects offer a suite of other features such as blocker (dependencies) and change log notifications. Learn more about creating projects here.
