Summary:

Motion's List View is the most comprehensive and detail-oriented project view. Think of it as an Excel table of your projects and tasks. The List View is the only project view in Motion that allows you to view all the associated tasks and full task details for each individual project.

Why List View in Motion?

If you are a data-driven individual, then the List View is the view for you. What truly sets the List View apart from the other project views is its detailed and unique layout offering a column view of all your projects and associated tasks.

With customizable filtering and optimal display settings, the List View perfectly balances detail-orientation and efficiency. Quickly sort through all your projects and associated tasks to quickly find exactly what you're looking for.

Using the List View will save you time and energy managing your projects and their tasks all in one place.

To Access the List View in Motion:

Go to the "All Projects" located on the left-hand sidebar:

  • Navigate to the "All Projects" tab.

  • At the top of the page, there are three tabs:

    • List: Think of it as an Excel table of your projects and tasks.

    • Kanban: A Kanban board for visualizing workflow.

    • Gantt: A timeline for your projects.

  • Click on the List tab.

Columns: Making the List View Truly Your Own

Utilizing the customizable column sorting in the List View is a sure-fire way to truly make this project view feel like your own. The column filtering in the List View offers 20 different data points you can use to filter and alter the display of your project and task data.

Ranging from common filters like 'deadline' and 'assignee' to more specific filters like 'attachments' and 'colors'; the List View truly has a customization for every Motion customer.

Sorting Your Projects and Tasks

Whether you prefer to manually drag and drop your columns in particular order, or simply toggle off the columns you dont want to see; the List View is fully customizable.

To re-order/remove your columns:

  1. Navigate to the 'All Projects' tab.

  2. Select the '+' sign located to the far right-hand side of the List View interface.

  3. The available column filters will populate.

  4. Simply drag and drop your columns in your preferred order (the higher up the list you slide a column filter, the farther left that column filter will appear in the List View).

  5. To remove a particular column simply toggle the column display off (blue = on, grey = off).

Steps to Save Views

  1. Start by selecting 'All Projects' from the left-hand sidebar.
