Motion's notifications help you stay on top of your tasks and updates from all your devices whether you are at home or on the go. From desktop alerts, to email and mobile notifications, Motion’s notifications ensure you’ll never miss an important update. You can customize notification settings to suit your workflow, and let Motion handle the rest.
Let’s dive in and learn more about Motion’s notification offerings!
Download and install the Motion desktop application.
Log in to your Motion account.
Open Settings in the Motion desktop app.
Navigate to the Notifications section.
Toggle notifications "on" to enable system alerts for the desktop application.

Motion’s Desktop Notifications can significantly boost your productivity by ensuring you're always informed about critical tasks, calls, or events. These notifications appear seamlessly as system alerts on your computer, keeping you updated without disrupting your workflow.
Open System Settings on your Mac.
Navigate to Notifications > Application Notifications.
Locate and select the Motion app.
Toggle Allow Notifications to the "on" position.
Customize your preferences for:
Banners/alerts
Sound
Badge application icon
Access Windows Settings.
Search for Notifications & Actions.
Find and click on the Motion app.
Toggle Notifications to the "on" position.
Select your preferred notification types.
Close the settings window to save your changes.
Imagine you're deeply focused on a particular task for an upcoming project, and you lose track of time during the day, forgetting about an upcoming meeting you have with a colleague.
With Desktop Notifications enabled, you'll receive a popup reminder for the meeting giving you time to table the ongoing task and ensure you’re prepared and ready for the meeting.
Available when using Motion in your browser.
Limited to the active, in-use Motion tab.
Provides a focused, distraction-free notification experience.
Open Motion in your preferred web browser.
Click on the Settings icon within the Motion app.
Navigate to the Notifications tab.
Enable browser notifications by granting permission when prompted.
Ensure the Motion tab remains active to receive real-time alerts.
(Note: if you have followed these steps and are still not receiving notifications from Motion, review your browser notification settings on your device to ensure they are active.)
Appear as device system notifications.
Display on your device regardless of whether the Motion app is open or actively in use.
Ensure you stay informed and updated even when switching between the web app and desktop app.
Email Notifications offer an additional way to stay updated on tasks and events when you're not actively using Motion.
When you create a new task using Siri, Motion will send you an email alert, giving you peace of mind when scheduling, even when you’re on the go.

Log in to the Motion mobile app.
Go to Settings > Notifications.
Select the notifications you want to enable, such as:

Your manager assigns you a critical task while you’re away from your computer. With Mobile Notifications enabled, you’ll receive an instant alert on your device, ensuring you remain in the loop and can act promptly to the assigned task.

Automatic task reminders are not available in the mobile app at this time.
A: Motion allows team members to enable their own notifications for tasks assigned to them on desktop and web apps. However, automatic mobile reminders for others are not currently supported.
Yes! If you’ve enabled Mobile Notifications, tasks created with Apple Intelligence will trigger notifications on your mobile device.
