Summary:

Motion’s Favorites feature lets you quickly access your most important projects, folders, and views by pinning them to the sidebar. Simply right-click any project, folder, or saved view and add it to Favorites. Jump back to what matters most with a single click. In this article we will discuss how Motion's Favorites feature is utilized and why it is an organizational game-changer.

Quickly Access Your Most Important Projects, Views, and Folders

At Motion, we’re always looking for ways to make navigation easier and help you stay focused on what matters most. That’s why we’re excited to introduce Favorites, a simple but powerful new feature that lets you quickly access your most important projects, views, and folders—all from the sidebar.

How Favorites Work

Favorites allow you to pin your most frequently used projects, views, and folders to the sidebar for instant access. Here’s how you can start using it today:

1. Favorite a Project

Have a high-priority project you need to check frequently? Simply right-click on a project and select “Add to Favorites.” The project will instantly appear in your Favorites section in the sidebar, so you can jump back to it anytime with one click.

2. Favorite a Folder

If you’re working within multiple projects inside a specific folder, you can also favorite the entire folder. Just right-click the folder and select “Add to Favorites.” Now, you can quickly access all projects within that folder, keeping everything organized and easy to find.

3. Favorite a Saved View

Managing multiple views? Favorites also work with Saved Views! If you frequently check a filtered view, like Past Due Projects, you can right-click the view name and select “Add to Favorites.” Now, whenever you need to check those projects, it’s just one click away.

Removing a Selection From Your Favorites

To remove a selected item from your Favorites section follow these steps:

  1. Select the 3 dots located to the right of the item you wish to remove.

  2. Select 'Remove From Favorites' from the resulting drop-down menu.

Why Favorites Matter

Favorites are designed to speed up navigation and keep important work within reach. Here’s why this feature will make your Motion experience even better:

âś… Save Time: Instantly access your most-used projects, folders, and views without searching.

âś… Stay Organized: Keep high-priority items at your fingertips and reduce clutter in your workspace.

âś… Work Smarter: Spend less time clicking through menus and more time focusing on your work.

How We Use Favorites at Motion

Here’s how we’re already using Favorites to improve our workflows:

• For Project Management: We favorite key projects like “Marketing Campaigns” and “Product Launches” to keep them easily accessible.

• For Teams & Departments: We pin folders like “Growth” or “Engineering” to quickly jump into the projects we work on the most.

• For Task Monitoring: We add saved views like “Past Due Projects” or “High-Priority Tasks” to stay on top of critical work.
