Scheduling All Day Events Blocking or Allowing Tasks

In our modern and busy lives, task scheduling has become a necessity. From managing work assignments to personal commitments, every minute counts. However, in the flurry of appointments and deadlines, there's a silent disruptor often overlooked: the βAll-Day Event.β
In this article, we delve into the intricate dynamics of how all-day events impact task scheduling.
When setting an all-day event, don't just click and drag time for the entire day. Instead, specifically select the "All Day" option to accurately set up your event.
Motion doesn't schedule tasks on particular days because of all-day busy events. Busy events prevent Motion from scheduling tasks over them, so tasks are being moved to the next available time. Setting a "Busy" all-day event in your "Accounts" or "My Calendars" prevents Motion's AI from scheduling tasks, ensuring an uninterrupted break.
To block tasks, follow these steps:
Select "All Day". This signals your event spans the entire selected day.
Click the "All Day" toggle. Now, your event is recognized as an all-day event.
Mark the event as "Busy" to block any tasks.
Click the "+" button at the top of your calendar view to open the event interface.
Once done, you can see your all-day busy event pinned on top of your calendar (filled out with color).
If tasks arenβt respecting your all day busy event, it could be that you've added it using a calendar that's not included in the βMy Calendarsβ section.
To allow tasks, follow these steps:
Follow steps 1-3 above to create an all-day event.
Mark the event as "Free", allowing tasks to be scheduled.
When an all-day event is marked as "Free", Motion's AI sees the day as available for tasks. You'll see tasks scheduled, despite the all-day event. All-day free events are hollowed-out (not colored).
