Color Coding Projects and Tasks

How Does Color Coding Work? 🎨

We are very excited to announce the introduction of an easy way to apply color-coding to tasks based on their projects. This visual improvement, actually assisting users in fast identification and organization of tasks, considerably makes workflow easier. This is a step-by-step guide on how to use color coding.

  • Click on the project with the tasks you want to color code.

  • You can go to All Tasks or All Projects to view tasks across all projects.

Access the Gantt Chart View 📊

  • Switch to the Gantt chart view by clicking here:

  • You’ll see your projects represented as horizontal rectangles.

Apply Color Coding 🎨

  • Hover over the project bar you want to color code.

  • Click the three-dot menu.

  • Select the color you want. The color of the project bar in the Gantt chart will reflect your choice, and the task blocks in the calendar tab will also display the assigned color.

  • You’ll also notice that in your left-hand sidebar, within your Workspaces options dropdown, the project UI block color corresponds to the color of the project in your Gantt view.

Note: Tasks that are in the No Project category will default to grey.

Once you’ve color-coded your projects in the Gantt tab, you should see those same colors reflected on the task block UI in the calendar tab, with the color coding represented by a vertical bar. Note that tasks not assigned to a project cannot be color-coded at this time.

We hope the color-coding feature will be helpful for managing and visualizing your tasks more effectively!
