Customizing Task Display on Your Calendar

While Motion's AI auto-scheduling algorithm strategically schedules your tasks for completion each day, we understand that not everyone prefers having all their tasks visible on their calendar, as this can create visual clutter.

We've introduced the option to hide tasks from your Motion calendar while still keeping auto-scheduling active. This display option removes task visibility from your calendar view, showing only your scheduled events each day, while still maintaining the benefits of Motion's auto-scheduling.

Important: Turning off task visibility does not delete your previously created Motion tasks. Your tasks remain accessible for editing and completion in the Projects and Tasks tab, as well as in your Agenda tab.

What This Feature Does

This feature allows you to control task visibility in your calendar view without impacting Motion's scheduling algorithm. Your calendar becomes less cluttered while deadlines are still met and tasks remain visible in the right-hand side Agenda sidebar.

Note: This change is visual only and does not affect your tasks' auto-scheduling or deadline coordination. Task display can be turned on/off at any time.

How to Turn Off Task Visibility

From the Calendar Page:

  1. Navigate to your Calendar tab in the left-hand sidebar

  2. Select Display Options at the top of the page

  3. Toggle off the option "Show Tasks in Calendar"

From the Settings Page:

  1. Click your account settings in the upper left corner of the Motion sidebar

  2. Select Auto-Scheduling from the settings list

  3. Choose "Don't Show Tasks on Motion Calendar"
