Tasks versus Events

Tasks in Motion are individual action items, designed to be highly flexible and adaptable, or dynamic in short. They are driven by artificial intelligence, which factors in variables such as duration, start and end dates, scheduling parameters, chunk duration, deadline type, and priority level. The AI then auto-schedules these tasks on the calendar, dynamically adjusting them as necessary for optimized time management.
Events in Motion are activities or commitments that are fixed in time. These are static and do not adjust or shift dynamically like tasks. They can include a range of professional meetings to personal commitments.

ποΈ Client Meeting: Attend a pre-scheduled meeting with an important client.
β Meal Preparation: Set aside time to plan and prepare meals for the week.

In summary, tasks in Motion are individual actions that are dynamically arranged for optimal scheduling, whereas events are fixed-time commitments that remain stationary on your calendar. By understanding and utilizing these distinctions, you can effectively harness Motion's AI capabilities to enhance your productivity and time management.
Motion's AI scheduling feature applies exclusively to tasks. It adeptly manages your task list by accommodating events from your connected calendars and scheduling tasks around events you're attending (busy). This functionality does not extend to events themselves.
We currently don't offer an annual recurrence option for tasks. However, you can create an annually recurring event instead.
