Rest easy! Motion is designed to automatically reschedule any tasks you can't complete within the stipulated timeframe. No need for you to manually adjust due dates or priorities - we believe Motion should save you time, not complicate matters. Simply click the status ring to mark a task as done when you've finished it. If not, Motion will reorganize your tasks and reschedule any incomplete ones within 30 minutes of their original end time.
The "play" button is there to signal your intent to start a task ahead of schedule. Pressing "play" brings the selected task to the current time and adjusts any overlapping tasks accordingly. You can right-click on the task to see the play button.
Once you start a task, you have the option to select how long you are going to work on it (Time Tracking).
There are two ways to do this:
Calendar Tab: You can enable the "Show completed tasks" toggle via Display Options for a quick overview. Simply click on the task to see its details.
Projects Tab: Go to a workspace and use the βStatusβ filter to display all of your completed tasks.
In an ideal world, we could be in two places at once. But Motion is rooted in reality. Our system might take a moment to recalculate tasks, during which you may see some overlap. If this persists, feel free to reach out to our support team via the chat icon on the bottom right of your screen.
You can use blockers to sequence tasks within a project. If you set Task A as a blocker for Task B, Motion will schedule both tasks on your calendar, ensuring Task A is scheduled before Task B.
We're working on that! Soon, you'll be able to customize task colors. In the meantime, some users utilize emojis in their task titles for a more visual organization. You can do this by opening the task > right-clicking on the task title and selecting "Emojis & Symbols."
Both recurring and one-time auto-scheduled tasks can be seen on the calendar. To view all of your recurring tasks within a workspace, you can navigate to the Projects tab > go to the desired workspace > click βFilterβ and select βRecurringβ from the list.
